Rezumat:[Extensions of Coșeriu’s linguistic “brand” in economic analyses]
Linguistic variation, a generic concept that refers to linguistic diversity, implies the differences that may occur synchronically and diachronically in the study of historically constituted languages. The distinguishing factors may be temporal (diachronic variation), spatial (diatopic variation), sociocultural (diastratic variation) and contextual (diaphasic variation), while they may also be determined by the channel via which communication is realized (diamesic variation). The present study advances a model for economic analysis, using Coșeriu’s tools and research model for language variation.
When approached statistically, the performances of a “community” of economic entities (private/public companies) can be analysed from the five variational perspectives established: diachronic (aimed at the economic performances of entities at distinct times); diatopic (relates the variation of performances to the belonging of the same “community” of economic entities to a specific geographical region); diastratic (associates the variation of the “community” with its ergonymic particularity); diaphasic (studies the performance of the “community” with respect to its level of evolution, passing through the following stages – start-up, small, medium and large taxpayer – and phases of decline: insolvency, bankruptcy, dissolution, liquidation and deregistration); diamesic (the shape – legal organisation – in which economic entities, as a whole, achieve the aim and objectives for which they were founded).
