| Rezumat: | [Direct speech in Romanian texts from the 16th century] The paper aims at identifying the grammatical indices of the reported speech (RS) called direct speech (DS), a discourse which reveals similar pragmatic features to those assigned to the utterances belonging to the real dialogue (to the direct discourse, DD), in 16th century Romanian texts. The author examines the syntax of the direct discourse from the perspective of enunciation. The theoretical support is discourse analysis and functional grammar. Some aspects regarding the syntactic relations between the constitutive elements of various realizations of direct speech (DS) are identified in the analysed material. Specifically, the paper concentrates on the way in which the forms of DS are integrated into old Romanian texts of different types: the relation between the quoting statement and the limits (lexical/graphic boundaries) of these components of DS placed in relation to general syntax of the statement (the position of the introductory element) and the internal syntax of the quoting statement (word order SV/VS). |
