| Rezumat: | [Observations regarding the configuration of some “stage” anthroponyms (SA) in Romanian public space] Starting from the premise that a name is an important source of information, this paper aims at demonstrating that stage names chosen by interpreters or various music bands send messages to the listeners/fans, generating different fashionable behaviours (for instance, as regards verbal behaviour or style of dress). This study proposes a classification of names of music bands that exist in Romanian public space, from the perspective of the criteria underlying the choice of such designations. Hence, several aspects are taken into consideration: the music genre played, the sex of the artist, his/her experience and creativity, personal stories, the nonconformism displayed or the potential positive/negative impact on the public. The choice of a right name may depend on certain features of the artist(s), the wish to create a particular identity or imitate a successful model (i.e. an artistic brand), the impact of the media, or efficient marketing strategies. |
