| Rezumat: | [Lexical Innovations in the Modern Romanian Orthodox Version of the Bible (BO), Compared with the 17th Century Version of the Orthodox Bible of Bucharest (BB)] One must regard ad analyse the phenomenon of the lexical innovation in a certain text (religious, for instance) not only by searching to define the place of the neologisms in its economy – that is to say, a search aiming to establish in what degree tradition is opposed to innovation in such a text must go beyond the limits of the rate of mere usage of neologisms. The proper sense of innovation implies searching also all the cases of linguistic replacement, which repudiates archaic phonetic features, morphological peculiarities as well as syntactic constructions in favour of their correspondents in modern Romanian. Innovation is therefore not only lexical adoption, but also manifold change, in which neologism is a decided but not sufficient centre. So the dynamism of a sacred text (in our particular case, that of the Psalms) in its orthodox version is a conditionally legitimated notion, implying a simultaneous view of continuity, regression and innovation in their subtle relation – and that by the way of a diachronic approach and a complete textual analyse. |
