| Rezumat: | Human typology and character are two of the habitually used elements in the sphere of the Romanian nicknames/appellations, giving “colour” to the autochthonous anthroponomy, due to the imaginative, and in the same time critic spirit, which depicts the members of a community. Moreover, the toponymy itself benefits, equally, from these “products” of the imaginative-ironic designation, being demonstrated the fact that the people’s names are implicated in the emerging of the places’ names, more frequently than the names of places are implicated in the forming of anthroponyms. In the present work, the human typological segment that supplied the lexical material is that framed within the semantic area of the appellatives “mad/stupid”; the form in which they are “materialized” in the toponymy from Oltenia and Muntenia represents the subject of our analysis. |
