| Abstract: | The aims of this paper are to analyze the polisemy in the semantic field of (Romanian) natural defects, to determine which meanings of the terms denoting natural defects are most frequently used by speakers and which of them are considered pejorative, and to explain these choices. We used a questionnaire on 18 subjects and the results show that all of the terms are considered pejorative, the main explanations being that they refer to a person’s physical appearance, physical defects and features which are viewed as negative. |
