| Abstract: | Although transient through the Old Romanian literary lexis, the lexical innovations by which Udrişte Năsturel translated the notion ‘ephemeral’ are a testimony to his preoccupations for the literary language, and at the same time to his talent as a writer. His attempt to innovate, originating from its desire to find the best fitting word, places Năsturel, be it only because of this translation, among the language architects of the old period, foreshadowing the appearance of Bishop Dosoftei. |
