Abstract:[Linguistic Markers and Discourse Orientation] Starting from the statement that some linguistic markers (such as the lexical, grammatical ones, at the micro level of analysis) take discursive-textual functions, showing, at mezo level, possible developments of the discourse, or, at the macro level, even textual global schemes/patterns, we have identified linguistic, lexical and/or grammatical markers bearing certain discursive-textual type of interferences (such as narrative, descriptive, argumentative, dialogic ones, etc).
This type of approach lies at the crossroads of language description and discourse description, attempting to demonstrate which are the ways and zones where the articulation between linguistic and, respectively, discursive-textual description takes place.
Within our research we have looked at studies opening the perspectives for analysis in one discursive mode or other, and we have continued by investigating areas/zones less described from this perspective. The study confirms our general hypothesis, which is the „discursive orientation” of linguistic markers (i.e. the integration of discourse in language).
