| Abstract: | [The Use of Slang in the Parliamentary Discourse] The paper examines the use of slang in the contemporary Romanian parliamentary discourse. The research is carried out within the theoretical framework of the Relevance Theory, Critical Discourse Analysis and Speech Act Theory. The analysis focuses on the pragmatic and rhetorical dynamics of slang words in various political declarations by providing both a typology and an adequate means to describe this species of political discourse with emphasis on both the macro-structural properties and the micro-structural organization. |
