Abstract:[Remarks on the Linguistic Means of Expressing Quantitative Approximation in the Old Romanian Language] The article aims at emphasizing the main differences between the ways of expressing quantitative approximation in the old Romanian and the ones in the actual Romanian. The investigation of some representative texts reveals interesting particularities of the old language in comparison to the actual one. For example, the actual cam has two different forms in the old language corresponding to its two semantic connotations: a) as a quantifier (followed by a number), it has the form ca and b) as an intensifier (followed by a verb or by an adjective/adverb): can/cani.
