| Abstract: | [The uniqueness of syntactic functions in the Noun-Phrase. Some adnotations] Our paper concerns the uniqueness of syntactic functions in the noun-phrase. We would like to demonstrate, the debate remaining opened, that the modifiers, the determiners and the arguments of the noun have a unique position, all viewed from a syntactic point of view. For explaning the principle of uniqueness, the semantic restriction the noun requires is the leading part. We propose a research hypothesis in what the uniqueness and the argumental vs non-argumental status of a syntactic function is concerned, our capital motivation being to prove that the non-argumental syntatic position too could be unique to the same head of the noun-phrase. |
