The article we will present is an analysis of the values of the French “contre” preposition and the way in which their transfer in the Romanian language is carried out. The high degree of similarity between the French preposition as well as the Romanian, leads to a superficial approach of the transcoding between the two languagesand also to the occurrence of errors regarding the use of this preposition by the beginners/ medium-level users of the French language.
