| Abstract: | [The power of language between theory, method and politics] The present research aims to bring a modern perspective (that of Critical Discourse Analysis) on the concept of power of language. Though frequently used before as a means of emphasizing social relationships created through language, this concept is now integrated in a broader chain of theories which were previously applied to Romanian language, but never under the generous “umbrella” of CDA. The practical aspect of our research is dealing with a corpus of ten E-mail texts representative for Romanian business life. Though relatively new in Romanian, E-mail texts became popular very fast, offering us an exciting field for further research. |
