Abstract:This article deals with a recently edited Romanian text translated from German, which is preserved in two copies written by the translator himself, Vlad Boțulescu, in the manuscript 68 of the State Archives in Venice. The text describes the election and coronation ceremony of the Holy Roman Emperor and it is one of the few Old Romanian writings which focuses entirely on the ceremony. The analysis discusses several morphologic (morphosyntactic) features of the text and inquires to what extent they can be used in order to have a more accurate image of Vlad Boțulescu‟s innovative techniques of writing.
