Abstract:
In Romanian, the affective pattern X(EXP.) + AFFECT + pentru „for‟ + Y(THEME) is less common, because the position of Y is usually saved for the Beneficiary, that is an animated noun. Corpus analysis shows however that the structure with Theme non-animated Y deserves its place among affective patterns. Thus, it is manifested in various constructions, most common of which organized around a reflexive verb, an „affect‟ noun, an adjective or participial adjective near a copula and a noun in the dative case.The affective value of these constructions is rendered by means of psychological verbs, participial adjectives of these verbs and [+Affect] abstract nouns.
