Abstract:[Classical landmarks and modern transfigurations]
This paper reunites several short studies, which highlight certain novel aspects that result from the comparison of works by classical authors (Cicero, Horace, Apuleius) and patristic texts (by Augustine and Jerome) with literature by authors from the Middle Ages (Nicolaus Olahus), the Renaissance (Cervantes) and even from the contemporary age (Radu Stanca). At the same time, the paper touches upon specific matters related to translation theory and practice.
