Abstract:[Observations on lexical parallels between liturgical Romanian and Modern Russian]
This paper starts from a list of words presented by Felecan (2011) to illustrate the influence of Church Slavonic on Romanian religious terminology. The aim is to point out certain lexical correspondences that can be established between the aforementioned terms in Romanian and contemporary Russian against the shared background of Church Slavonic, while highlighting semantic differences developed by the words in the two languages.
