| Abstract: | [Elements of Polish origin in Old Romanian texts] The article proposes to analyse the influence exercised by Polish with respect to loanwords in old Romanian vocabulary. By establishing two lexical-semantic fields, we take into account generic names of military and social-politic terminologies. The Polish influence over Romanian old vocabulary between 16th and 18th centuries is the result of direct relations between Romanian and Polish savants, due to contact of Moldavian scholars with Polish schools during their studies and Polish realities or due to presence of Polish people in Moldova, as missionaries and/or travellers. Therefore, we examine the manner in which the Polish influence has distributed over Romanian old texts, such as chronicles or text translations from Polish by rendering to Romanian lexical loanwords into the military and social-political field of direct Polish origin or lexemes in Polish originated from Latin or sometimes, a Romance idiom. |
