Abstract:[Religious terminology’s influence in the onomastic field (Christian holidays)]
The study of a terminology (for instance, that we find in the onomastics) is able to furnish some data and arguments for other semantic fields, among which the religious one is our target. We mean, for example, the importance of a religious word’s being attested as geographic name or person name. By this way we can prove a Latin word being inherited in Romanian, which otherwise is not recoverable as common word in Eastern Romance; this is the sense in which the notion of archive-store has been employed with application to the onomastics.
Key words:religious, christian holidays, geographic names, person names
Language: Romanian
