Abstract:[Remarks on some family names from Bessarabia]
The article deals with a few family names from Bessarabia, from the volumes published by Maria Cosniceanu, Nume de familie [Family names] (Chișinău: 2000, 2010). In addition to comments on their origin, we try to demonstrate that the selected collection proves the fact that Bessarabia can be integrated, from the linguistic point of view, into the overall system of the Romanian language. Thus, deciphering some local names (for example, Scridon), there were used attestations and information from Romanian idioms on both sides of the Danube (from Romania and Bulgaria, respectively).
Key words:anthroponym, appelative, etymon, family names, motion
