Abstract:[Double system of descent groups and surname adaptations in a Francoprovençal / French diglossical situation]
In this contribution, we study a case of anthroponymical interference between two conceptual worlds, with different channels of expression, the Francoprovençal and the French ones. We take support on a bilingual micro-community to build evidence on how every individual is connected to two distinct kinship systems obeying a coordinate bilingualism. The change of the original system into two coordinate systems is explained through a diachronic analysis of anthropological and anthroponymical phenomena. This analysis is based on notions of lineage segmentation and clan stratification. It brings theoretical, practical and methodological insights.
