Abstract:[Anthroponyms in The Romanian Letters from the Archives of Bistriţa]
In this paper, the author analyses the anthroponyms from the main official texts that date from the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century. These texts are known in the literature as The Romanian Letters from the Archives of Bistriţa (1592-1638); they were edited by Al. Rosetti. The analysis of anthroponyms is manifold: etymological, lexical and grammatical.
By this analytic approach, it will be noticed, on the one hand, how some elements of the anthroponymic system in the northern part of the country (the regions of Bistriţa, Bucovina and Maramureș) evolved and, on the other hand, what the constant features of this system are.
