Abstract:The aim of the present paper is to identify characteristics of meteorological terminology, starting from the paradigm of the term VÂNT (“WIND”). Adopting a lexical point of view, which belongs to the descriptive-linguistic study of terminologies, the paper establishes the status of the meteorological terms under scrutiny in relation with both general and specialised dictionaries. As a result, further attention is given to close analysis of definitions in the aforementioned lexicographical and terminographical works.
