The types of constructions analyzed in this study prove the existence of a literary contact between the Romanian, Hungarian and Latin languages. At the same time, it reveals that the translators of Palia de la Orăştie mastered the methods of rendering these types of constructions in Romanian.
The presence of Hebrew-origin constructions in the Romanian text may be due to two causes: either the faithful reproduction of the original text, or the use of an accustomed model, absent in situ in the source text. This oscillation is mainly caused by the Romanian linguistic norm, which was barely at the beginning. Its explanations may also reside in this type of constructions being inadequate to the Romanian language system. The production and occasional use of these constructions demonstrate the relation between the possibilities and the propensities of the Romanian language.
