Abstract:Greek influences the writings of Dimitrie Cantemir from two points of view: on the one hand, as a language of conversation used on a daily basis by Cantemir, and, on the other hand, from the perspective of Byzantine works used as sources for his historical works. This research study focuses on an analysis of his writings in Latin, in which Greek was present especially at the lexical level. The impact of Latin is stronger and influences the Greek terms, from a morphological and sometimes syntactical viewpoint.
Key words:
  • contact lingvistic, morfologie greacă, gramatica latină, surse bizantine, influenţe populare
  • linguistic contact, Greek morphology, Latin grammar, Byzantine sources, vernacular influences
