The article focuses on the issues regarding the interdisciplinary study of Moldova’s hydronymy (the area between the Prut and the Nistru Rivers), both geographically and linguistically. On the one hand we evince the the physical-geographical and natural characteristics of the hydrographic objects, on the other hand, the distinctive linguistic features of the onymic units designating them. For the first time Basarabia’s onomastics is approached both teoretically and practically in volumes (Catalogul apelor din Republica Moldova. Ghid hidronimic informativ-normativ / The Republic of Moldova River Catalogue. An Informative-Normative Hydronymic Guide and Atlasul hidronimic al Republicii Moldova / The Hydronymic Atlas of the Republic of Moldova) meant to be part of a comprehensive and prestigious work, Tezaurul toponimic al Republicii Moldova / The Toponymic Thesaurus of the Republic of Moldova.
L’article traite des problèmes qui tiennent de l’étude interdisciplinaire – géographique et linguistique – de l’hydronymie de l’espace qui s’étend entre le Prut et le Dniestr. On met en evidence, d’une part, les caractéristiques physico-géographiques et naturelles des objets hydrographiques et, de l’autre, les particularités linguistiques des unités onymiques qui les désignent. Pour la première fois dans l’onomastiques bessarabienne on entame des ouvrages à caractère théorique et applicatif-pratique – Catalogul Apelor din Republica Moldova. Ghid hidronimic informativ-normativ / Le catalogue des eaux de la République de Moldavie. Le Guide hydronimique informatif-normatif et Atlasul hidronimic al Republicii Moldova / L’Atlas hydronimque de la République de Moldavie, qui sont autant de parties constitutives d’une oeuvre de proportions et de prestige national – Tezaurul toponimic al Republicii Moldova / Le Trésor toponimique de la République de Moldavie.
