Abstract:The dialectologic and geolinguistic studies in Brazil, have passed through different phases, since the work of Domingos Borges de Barros, the Visconde da Pedra Branca, in 1826, passing through the works of Amadeu Amaral, in 1920, for Antenor Nacentes, in 1922, Mário Marroquim, in 1934. The third phase, the most productive, began with the publication of Atlas Prévio dos Falares Baianos, in 1963 followed for the Regional Linguistic Atlas. The current phase of geolinguistic studies, is the realization of Atlas Lingüístico do Brasil, under development now. The research realization for the elaboration of Atlas Lingüístico do Brasil will be, without any doubt, one mark in the dialectal and geolinguistic studies history in Brazil.
