Abstract: | Computer assisted translation (CAT) offers the possibility of investigating a large database fed into the translation memory and term base of translation environments, such as SDL Trados or MemoQ. We look into the possibilities of adding the English modal verb can to a term base with many of its possible meanings, and checking whether this will speed up the process of translation into non-Indo-European languages, such as Romanian or Hungarian. |
