Abstract:[The beginnings of the Romanian plurilingual dictionaries]
Following a brief introduction to the historical and theoretical aspects of the research, the author proceeds to an in-depth description of the first plurilingual dictionaries which included the Romanian language. Of these, most notable are the following: Lexicon Marsilianum (17th century); Samuel Micu’s Dictionarium valachico-latino, germanico-hungaricum (1806); Ioan Bob’s Dicţionariu rumânesc, latinesc şi unguresc (2 vol., 1822–1823) and The Buda Lexicon (1825).
