Ion Creangă’s language is characterized by a series of facts that makes its writing original and special. Due to word games, subtleties, puns, paraphrases, ambiguity etc Tohăneanu called its languages “limbaj coţcăresc” (a kind of tricky, funny language). We shall underline this feature of Creangă’s language, taking into consideration the critics’ opinions and giving different illustrations for each situation.
