The objective of our paper is to return in question and to reevaluate those complex syntactic constructions organized after the pattern [Preposition+Adjective], phrases also known as syntactic monsters, in the terminology proposed by D.D. Draşoveanu. The following objective is to argue, by means of current analysis tools, that these constructions represent, in Romanian, phenomena of secondary predication, therefore secondary predicates, beside many other syntactic constructions, such as: non-finite constructions, the predicative, the comparative object, apposition.
Key words:
syntactic constructions – „syntactic monsters”: non-finite constructions, the predicative, the comparative object, apposition; secondary predication
