Abstract:
  • This article which is the result of a research conducted within the framework of a bigger project, is trying to identify the most frequent conversational strategies applied by Bulgarian and Turkish students of economics and management. The research is based on a corpus of on-line sessions between those students. Defined in terms of speech acts or of cooperation and realization strategies, those competences give sense to the conversations and offer them a natural appearance, also helping students to overcome their speech deficits, even though native feedback is absent. The conclusion is that computer-assisted communication thus proves to be a reliable tool when assessing the improvement of students’ oral communication skills.
