La présente étude se veut un examen de l’évolution de la méthode, de la perspective et des enjeux de la démarche de Corin Braga, critique littéraire, historien des religions et analyste des représentations de la mentalité collective. Comment une figure du sujet interprétant se fait-elle jour dans une œuvre centrée sur la reconstruction de l’imaginaire européen du XIIe au XVIIIe siècles ? Les instruments de travail privilégiés par Corin Braga (la psychocritique, la psychogéographie ou la psychohistoire) lui permettent néanmoins de développer cette reconstruction et de l’étendre à des contextes historiques et géographiques impressionnants. Les hypothèses proposées par le critique ouvrent la voie vers la mise en place d’un scénario dialectique de la pensée européenne et d’une compréhension élargie de la logique dynamique qui rend compte des oscillations permanentes de cette pensée entre un modèle magique et un model rationaliste d’interprétation du monde, entre la religion et la culture, entre, enfin, la politique et la littérature.
The present study elaborates an analysis of the evolution of the method, the perspective and the instruments of the scientific works of Corin Braga. Braga is a Romanian contemporary literary critic, historian of religions and analyst of the representations of the collective mind. We intend to demonstrate how the author understands the figure of the interpretative subject, while reconstructing the European imaginary of the XIIth-XVIIIth centuries. His instruments (the psychocriticism, the psichogeography and psychohistory) allow him to develop this reconstruction and to extend it to impressive historical and geographical contexts. The assumptions proposec by the critic open the way to establishing a dialectic scenario of the European thopught and to a broad understanding of its oscillations between a rationalist model of interpreting the world and a magic one, between religion and culture, between politics and literature finally.
