Abstract:
  • This critical essay is concentrated on the distinctions between the Romantic and Post Romantic poetic model and the lyrical ontology of Nichita Stănescu (a Romanian poet highly representative for the late Modernism). In the Romantic and Post Romantic system of the imaginary, the creative subject invokes the categories of the universe in order to obtain access to the illimitate and escape his/her own limits. In the case of Nichita Stănescu, the human subject imposes his limits on the universe, during an integrative process. Thus, the poet has a consciouseness of the universal fragmentation, but mostly of his own capacity of representation as a whole. The Romantic universalist utopia leaves place for the idea of symbolic anthropocentrism, in the love poetry of the young Nichita Stănescu.
