Abstract:The evolution of the old books had been pre-established ever since the times of the first Synods which settled the canonic rules that later influenced its development, but the correct reports of censorship to the canon law were not made. Considering the enforcement of the canon regulations in the case of an insufficiently cleared chapter in the history of the Romanian print whose main character was Stoica Iacovici, a priest and printer, it results that the assumptions saying that he introduced censorship in Wallachia are wrong.
Key words:canon law, censorship, Romanian printing, Stoica Iacovici
