Abstract:[Formation of personal pronouns as subjects from Latin in the Roman languages: examples from French, Italian and some dialects from Northern Italy (Emilia Romagna region)] The article is a presentation of the Latin personal pronoun which plays the role of Subject in Romance languages by comparing the situation in French, Italian and the Eastern Emilian dialects. We will approach the topic from a diachronic, synchronic and comparative perspective making reference to Gustave Guillaume’s theory of language psychomechanics. Our attempt is to emphasise the semantic mechanisms of morphological ante-positioning. The case of Emilian dialects is particularly characteristic to the process of semantic – morphologic verbal actualisation.
