| Abstract: | The present study was meant to analyze the methodology of elaborating the national catalogue of the Old Romanian Book, known as The Old Romanian Bibliography, as well as the evaluation of the employed description criteria. Both the methodology of elaboration and the description criteria are assessed from the perspective of an urgently required republication of The Old Romanian Bibliography in circumstances where in 1944, when the last volume of the work was published, and up until today, an impressive number of Contributions to Old Romanian Bibliography have been published. The analysis allowed the conclusion that the description criteria meant for Old Romanian Books that were used by the authors of The Old Romanian Bibliography and by the authors of Contributions to Old Romanian Bibliography are relevant and correspond to the actual needs of cataloging the Old Romanian Book in the reprinted form of the Old Romanian Bibliography. |
