Abstract:This article deals with the relationships and the scientific collaboration between Sextil Puşcariu and the Italian linguist Matteo Bartoli. In addition to the collaboration in Studii istroromâne, the two linguists involved in the development of the linguistic atlas of their respective linguistic domains: the Italian Linguistic Atlas and the Romanian Linguistic Atlas. So this paper illustrates the theoretical and methodological similarities and differences of these two important works, showing with some examples the opportunities offered by a complementary consultation of the two Atlases.
