[Some Considerations on the Tense–Aspect Relation in Romanian and English] In this paper we intend to examine the Tense–Aspect Relation in Romanian and English, starting from the clarifications brought about by the 2005 Grammar of the Academy. We shall discuss the temporal and aspectual characteristics of the verb in the two languages under scrutiny and highlight the differences between them. We shall also focus on the perfective and progressive aspects and try to establish some possibilities of cross-linguistic equivalence between Romanian and English.
